Public participation in the Wisconsin Partnership Fund for a Healthy Future is essential. The Oversight and Advisory Committee (OAC) was created to provide this input. The OAC directs and approves funds for public health initiatives in collaboration with the UW School of Medicine and Public Health. OAC members also review, monitor and report on funds committed for medical education and research.
Shortly after the OAC was created in 2002, it was charged with the responsibility of collaborating with the UW School of Medicine and Public Health to develop a five-year plan, the blueprint that outlines Wisconsin Partnership programs.
The OAC membership consists of four community members, four UW School of Medicine and Public Health members and one member appointed by the state insurance commissioner.
Each of the public members was appointed as an advocate for a specific healthcare area: urban and community health, minority health, rural health and statewide health. The insurance commissioner’s appointee is an advocate for women and their families. Each of the UW School of Medicine and Public Health representatives has extensive experience and credentials in prevention, health promotion and health policy.
OAC meetings, minutes and events, held periodically, are posted publicly. The meetings and events are open to the public.
